Karl, A good man! I relied on him often for water advice. And remember the early days as a county sanitarian. Though he was in a better mood working on the fresh end of water. He will be missed. Sam

While working at MT DEQ Karl and I had a love of the water and wastewater operators of Montana. I received many calls throughout the many years of working for the state, from operators praising Karl's knowledge and willingness to answer questions. Dawn my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Karl will continue to be with us. Happy fishing Karl!

It wa so nice catching back up at the reunion, we may not have run in the same circles in high school, but so nice to see you again later as adults. I am praying for Dawn, and all your loved ones and family. Keep an eye out for us all down here. 😇

Karl, Im so glad we met all of those years ago in high school and then reconnecting with you and Dawn a few months ago. I enjoyed all of our conversations and your sense of humor. You always managed to make me laugh. I admired your strength and courage to fight your battle to the very end. I admired how even though you were in this battle, you were doing everything you could to make sure Dawn, the kids, and your family, were taken care of after you were gone. I admired how you chose to pray and cling to God rather than giving in to choosing bitterness and anger towards him. You were a strong man. A man who clearly loved all of his family and friends and cared deeply for them. When I asked you what you looked forward to most when you get to heaven you said, “Going fishing with my Mom.” I can only imagine how amazing and long that hug was when she and God met you at the gates and welcomed you home! I can only imagine how peaceful that river is and the amount of light, warmth, love, and happiness you’re feeling with your mom by your side and the poles in the water. I know you will continue to watch over your family and love them from above. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed! Sandy (Sauvageau) Randall

Karl the memories of all the family reunions we all shared together and all the fun we all had will always be cherished. I can picture those days in my head and we all had so much fun. You were kind of on the shy side but your siblings and us cousins knew you were one of us. Your smile could light up the room. You will forever be loved and truly missed my dear cousin. Always karl..love,Jody (Bolenske)Schottler.
