Obituary

Alpha Mae Hopf, 85, passed peacefully on June 15, 2025. She was born May 9, 1940, in Mossy, West Virginia, to Guy and Lola (Wriston) Clifton.

She was the fourth of nine siblings. Alpha and her family moved to Montana at a young age.

She married George Hopf on June 22, 1957, and they started a family on a ranch in Sumatra.

She enjoyed gardening, baking bread, playing pinochle and bingo, but most of all spoiling her grandchildren.

Alpha was preceded in death by her husband George, daughter Lori, son Joseph, parents Guy and Lola Clifton, Sisters Nona (Kenneth)Arneson, Joyce Sherod, and Virginia Miller. Brothers Edward (Dorothy)Clifton, David (MaryAnn) Clifton, And Ernie (Loene)Clifton.

She is survived by daughter’s Cathy (Kris) Goll, Lollie (Wayne)Ray, Debbie (Sean) Hanley Sons Michael (Robin) Hopf, Doug Hopf, Charles (Chrissy ) Hopf and numerous grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews Brother Daniel (Meredith) Clifton, Sister Ellen (Tim) Johnson and Brother in law David Sherod

Vigil Service to be held on Thursday, June 19, 202,5, at 7 pm at St. Bernards Catholic Church.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 9 am at St. Bernards Catholic Church.
Burial to follow service at the Rosebud County Cemetery.
