Shaun Boyce
October 30, 1984 - June 02, 2025
Obituary
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Shaun Michael Boyce, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, godfather, coach, and friend. Shaun was born on October 30, 1984, in Hayward, California, and passed away of natural causes on June 2, 2025, in Billings, Montana, at the age of 40.
Shaun was the devoted husband of his soulmate, Staci (Certain). They were married on June 20, 2009. He was the proud father of their two children, Adalynn and Ethan, whom he adored beyond measure. He was their constant supporter, encourager, and biggest and loudest fan - always present, always proud, and always full of love.
He was the cherished son of Rick and Starla, and a loyal brother to Josh, Jon, Matt, and Rickey. His family was the heart of his world, and he loved them all fiercely. As an uncle and godfather, Shaun embraced his role with love, honor, compassion, and dedication.
Professionally, Shaun made a lasting impact. This extended far beyond Johnny Carino’s where he made lifelong friendships, and met the love of his life, Staci. On to HRDC 7 where he worked diligently helping weatherize homes for low-income families in Billings and the surrounding area. He also made a lasting impact on the world of information and communications technology. He was internationally known for his hard-work and dedication to the ICT department for Sibanye-Stillwater Mine, building bridges between the United States and South Africa. His expertise, vision, and tireless work ethic earned him deep respect across continents.
Shaun was also a passionate baseball coach for Riverside Little League and Triple Play Academy. He had coached his son, Ethan, since T-ball. Shaun spent countless hours guiding young athletes with a mix of determination, patience, and heart. His influence reached far beyond the field, shaping lives with every lesson and word of encouragement.
Those who knew Shaun will remember a man who loved fiercely - his family, his work, his community, and life itself. He was always the first to reach out with a call, support, and a joke. He was his daughter’s first love, support, advocate, and loudest fan. He was his son’s encourager, coach in baseball, football, and in life. He was an avid sports fan, bowler (attended Nationals for bowling several years with friends), golfer, and school field trip and dance chaperone for his children. He liked fishing and camping with family and friends at “the ranch”, cooking, competing in BBQ competitions, playing cornhole and poker with friends. Shaun loved traveling with his family including trips to Denver, to take the kids to a professional baseball game, and to Disneyland where they met his aunt, uncle, and cousins and they made countless memories.
In the movie The Sandlot, Babe Ruth says, “Heroes get remembered, and legends never die”. Shaun was most definitely a legend, and his legacy is one of strength, loyalty, and unwavering love.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
