Obituary

Cody Ray Blackman (Two Moons – Cheyenne name given by Austin Two Moons Sr., 12/83) of Salem, Oregon, started his journey to ‘Paradise’ while in hospice at his home in Salem. Cody wanted to be home with his family, and he was.

He was born July 3, 1983, in Crow Agency, MT, to Nadine Tall Bull and Douglas Blackman. He was the oldest of 4 siblings. He graduated high school at a private Ivy League high school (where former President Ronald Reagan and Walter Matthau graduated) as the Student Body President. After graduating from high school, he was accepted to the University of Southern California (USC). This is where he got his International Flight Attendant job. He worked for Delta and United Airlines for 8 years. Deciding to change pace, he applied to Haskell University in Lawrence, KS. He completed an Associate of Arts Degree to meet the criteria to attend Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He moved to Salem, Oregon, last year. Cody loved to travel and saw the world for 8 years.

Cody is survived by his parents, Nadine Tall Bull of Salem, OR, and Douglas Blackman of Browning, MT. He is also survived by three siblings, Kyle (Brooke) Blackman, Michyla (Jon) Higheagle, and Charnell (Jacob) Blackman. Nieces and Nephews: Aakylah Red Fox, Ameyah Higheagle, Nakiah Higheagle, A.J. Blackman, D’Kari Blackman, Zayden Cardena, GiGi Higheagle, and Kyson Blackman – he loved them very much.

Cody was an intelligent person, which is not accepted by most. He used his wonderful, brilliant sense of humor to show you his heart. Cody would want all of us to Stand Up against Bullying and Social Injustice.

Reach for the stars, my son, my boy … “You Do!”
